Watched a lot of Youtube videos.

Took off cover to pull starter.
Cleaned Flywheel of rust.
Cleaned Spark Plug

Drained Gas, and replaced.
Took off Flywheel, and cover to points.
Looked at points, and made sure I sanded under surface of Magneto to get rid of rust.
Took points off, and then replaced.
Took little piece that raises and lowers when engine rotates

Put all back together, and pulled the starter, and the thing started

YEa, I am back in business, and NOW it is in the garage, and not going to be out in the weather or rain.

If your fuel has ethanol in it you should empty the tank each time you use it and run it until it stops so that the fuel in the carb is used up.

Get a can of Seafoam. Put about 1 oz in the tank the next time you fill it. Seafoam will clean out gum deposits that old gas would have left throughout the system while the engine runs. Auto parts stores, Walmart etc carry it in 16 oz cans. Also, if the gas you buy has 10% ethanol added, you'd be wise to NOT leave gas sitting in the edger's tank. Dump the gas back into the larger container you buy the gas in and then, pull the start cord 8 ~ 12 times slowly to pull air through the fuel system, purging out the gas fumes. Buy gas in very small amounts and use it up quickly. Ethanol in small engines = problems.

I have to pour a bit of Seafoam into the carb. on a small engine tiller I have. Runs fine once I get it going, but it refuses to start without the Seafoam.

Check cylinder compression.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.
