roomba, happy?

Our family adopted a Pug this last year and I was unaware of just how much shedding would be involved. We have hardwood floors and the hair really stands out. So I'm considering a Roomba to cut down on the amount of sweeping that I do.

I'm looking at the 790 model which is the newest version and an upgrade to the 780. It would need to cover a room approximately 15x30 that is all hardwood. Given the price it would be nice if I could move it to some other high traffic rooms on occasion.

Can anyone speak to how well this would work? Thanks.

Ukulele music I couldn't find anywhere else.

Ours is one of the 500 models that has the programming capabilities. It works fine. We have it just run around the first floor when we're not home. It came with some battery-operated devices that prevents it from going into certain rooms if we want to block it. We've had ours for several years and the battery finally died. Last year I bought a new aftermarket battery for it from Amazon and now it just zooms along. It also keeps our cat occupied for an hour at a time as the cat follows the Roomba from place to place.

Edit--grammar.

After being disappointed by the performance of two Roombas, I bought a Neato XV21. That thing blows the Roombas out of the water. Instead of bouncing around the house randomly it will map out your house with its laser mapping system and clean every inch of it in a systematic manner. I could not be happier.

No, I don't think so, but I'm sure they've thought about it.

My mistake, they acquired Evolution Robotics, the maker of the Mint/Mint Plus cleaning robots.
