Convert mp4 to AVCHD?

I've got an mp4 movie that I'd like to play on a BR player that has a USB slot for AVCHD video.

How can I convert the mp4 to play on the player?

I've Googled and so far the results are for PCs or going from AVCHD to mp4.

Are you sure that's the only format the Blu-ray player supports? If so, I'd be really surprised...

I was gonna say that seems strange. Seems like if it played anything it would play an mp4. Especially from a USB port.

I'm not, but then I checked the specs of the player.

Congratulations. Out of the handful of useless responses, your's is the only one to qualify as dumbass.

Thanks. Sorry about that. Had a bad day yesterday, and spent the little free time I had trying to get the best quality out of some AVCHD files someone had dumped in my lap for editing. In the end, it was easiest/best to just convert them with Handbrake.

And what did they say?
