I'm looking at the Iomega 35541 EZ Media & Backup Center 2TB NAS Network Hard Drive as a good way to have my photo library available from both "home" and "office" Macs. The two computers sit side by side and I use a KVM switch to display one or the other on a big monitor. Are there any shortcomings I should be aware of? I've also been considering those WD Passport drives, but for that to be visible to both computers it would have to be at the end of a USB chain whose speed (through the KVM switch) and power consumption is uncertain.

That is a nice price ($100) for a 2TB NAS.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

Had a poor experience with my Iomega backup drive. Just not very stable with my Macs.

Had another report of disaster and agony with Iomega backup drive, a photographer friend is still trying to recover a damaged giant archive stored on such a system. Big headache for him. I'm wary.
