Wacky Phorum Behavior...

When I visit the 'Friendly' Political Ranting forum, every topic is marked unread and the message at the top of the screen says...

Welcome back, MacMagus!
Since your last visit 556 new
messages have been posted!

...except that there are no new posts in the threads that are marked with new posts.

So, I click the link to mark all messages read. It seems to work. Everything is fine. Then a few hours later, BAM all of the topics appear to be unread again.

It's not just you. It did the something similar to me just a few minutes ago. I had marked all read and the post count showed zero and then I went off to work in another tab. When I clicked the forum tab and hit reload it went back to an older page with messages and threads showing as unread that had just been marked as read.

I think it was the forum's cache that needed to be cleared not mine.

Am I the only one who *never* marks all posts read?

UnDoug;

Nope...
We MIGHT be the only TWO, however.

UnDoug,
I used to never do that either, but when the forum got really busy, I just couldn't stand the "Since your last visit there have been 1,425,324 new posts", so I started doing the mark all read. It makes it easier to spot the threads I've been following. If I don't, there is just too much red for me to make any sense of it.

I believe the correct term is "wonky".
