CostCo has the KX-TG242 for $60 right now. It's DECT 6 (if you care)
Bought one last week to replace my spouses aging Pana.
Quite nice.
1 corded base, 2 cordless satellites.
sats can pick up messages from the answer machine.
sats have headset jack and speakerphone function.
talking caller ID (very sexy).
Way smaller power supplies than the old ones.
Big numbers for 50 yo eyes.
Small footprints.
Sounds good incoming and outgoing.
Address book.
One shortcoming, there doesn't appear to be any speed dials. Stupit.
I give it an 8 at least, I like the tune and I can't dance to it.

I picked up the KX-TG4133 3 handset unit at Staples in December to replace my aging 2.4GHz Panasonic and have been very happy with it. I have had Panasonic's for 20+ years and have always been happy. My main complaint on previous models is the keypads wear out (often used keys get sticky) On the up side they are easy to get parts for and easy to fix if you are inclined.

AAA NiMH rechargeable.

My next cordless phone will use AA or AAA rechargeable batteries.

The current landline uses a AAx3 battery pack. Both satellites have given decent service but are now limited to 10min when out of the cradle and in use.

Various replacement battery packs are a little pricey and have really poor reviews. and they seem over priced to me.

I have had the KX-TG1062M, which I believe is the older version, for several years and have been very, very pleased. It is DECT 6.0 but not DECT 6.0 PLUS and no talking caller id.

Geeeze, browsing phones at Panasonic's site reminds me of the days of Sony's 40,000 Walkmen.

TONS of features strewn about various models.

I like the Link2Cell and Key Detector features. I'm surprised so many of their phones don't have charge/ringer indicators.
