Yes - I personally own/Easily accessible (one in the house that's not mine, or work computer) 59

No. 20

Obviously we're all Mac folk around here, but just wondering since many of us are technically minded, and Windows is so prevalent, how many people here either own or have easy/regular access to (same household or your work computer) a Windows PC.

My initial guess is probably 80%+.

I actually spend most of my day with no access to a Mac. I have Linux and Windows computers all around me all day long.

I run a computer lab for our foreign languages department. 32 computers. Five of them were iMacs, but they're on their way out, to be replaced by Windows boxes. A few minutes ago I installed the fourth of the five new Dells. One Mac left, which will be pulled tomorrow. : ( Nobody uses the software on the Macs anymore.

No access to a PC. Single, live alone, self employed and my only computer is my MacBook.

Nope. But I do have an unused Winblows 7 Ultimate disc sitting in my DVD software collection.

I work on a Windows 7 PC all day every day, but my boss is about to buy us all new MacBook Pros which will also run Windows.

My daughters school is upgrading their computer labs, but are going from Windows to Windows, unfortunately. Every teacher that my daughter has had, as well as some that she will have, have asked for at least one Mac in the lab, if not for the classroom. They have been blown off.

Most of the teachers are using Macs personally; and it seems, a larger percentage than I would have thought, of kids have Macs at home. (The "large percentage" is just my own anecdotal accounting based on talking to my daughter's classmates when I go volunteer in the computer lab.)

I was responsible for about 20 Win XP machines in the practice we closed (many of them still kicking around here—Pentium IIIs mostly, which I want to donate), plus a Dell, then HP, Win2003 server. Now have a VM virtual server, and my wife's Win7 PC. And I have to run Parallels and/or Fusion on my personal Macs to access the EMR software for both our old practice and her new group's. So like it or not, I'm surrounded by Windows. But I'm a Mac guy, since 1987, when the Mac SE introduced me to the joys of the graphical user interface.

I'm definitely a Mac guy but I also have Windows machines.

One Windows machine is both my gaming machine and Media Center PC although I use it less and less for that.

The other reason is too many of the insurance companies I work with have web sites that use Active X or only work with IE and/or create custom software that is Windows only. I have Crossover on my main Mac so I can use IE but I don't have a full-blown Windows install (Parallels) so their stupid custom software wouldn't work. I find that I almost never run IE in Crossover, I just fire up the whole Windows machine.

I had to use Windows daily at work, and my buddy's wife uses a PC.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop on which there have been several problems. Sony customer support was a joke. I'll never buy another Sony product again.

I find that there is software on the Mac side for 99% of what I do. Every once in a while, I need some level of Windows compatibility - usually because of a specialized utility or using a website that has ActiveX. So I do need to keep a Windows machine around for those occasions.

We have one iMac (mine) and three Windows 7 PCs (wife's desktop, wife's laptop, and an HTPC) at home, along with a recently retired Windows 2003 Server box. I use the iMac almost exclusively, although I do have two Windows VMs (XP and 8) on it that I have the occasional need for.

I also have both an iMac and a Windows 7 PC on my desk at work, and spend about 75% of my time on the iMac (which is the only one in the office). No VMs on that one.

My main machine is a cheap Lenovo laptop.

I have a 2007 mac mini I use for fairly dedicated things since it won't even play a youtube video any more.

We have a win7 desktop,

a dell inspiron laptop with win8

a new macbook air (amazing machine, mostly),

and an ipad 2, which has a new lease on life since we bought a bluetooth keyboard for it. Before, it was a netflix viewer.

So yeah, we have pc's a plenty. kj.
