i received a new iphone from work, and they also got me an OtterBox Commuter case. I looked online and it appears that the case should include a screen protector, but mine has only the 2 shells (inner and outer layers for the case, no screen)

also the box doesn't show the screen protector at all. Did I get an older version of the case? or is it fake? I think they got it directly from ATT but I don't know for sure.

when I google I find some complains about the screen protector, so maybe it's better without. Still surprised the web site shows screen protector but my box does not.

It might be old stock. I don't like the commuter because the silicone is too flimsy. The otterbox defender I got for my iphone 5 sucked. Screen separated from case before I even installed it.

found the answer. This is a model made for Verizon (and maybe also for ATT) which does NOT include the screen protector

I have a defender, it has a plastic screen protector that really sucks. Stuff gets under it and it also has many blemishes. My phone looks really poor because of it compared to the screens that go commando like the commuter.

Love mine. Excellent case. It's the first case I've used that makes my iPhone still look/feel like an iPhone, IMO. No screen cover, but I personally don't like screen covers. YMMV.
