OT: Powering through Trek Voyager Season 2

Halfway through Season 2, some observations so far:

-I really like the opening theme music. Very reflective of a lone ship making it's way home.
-They need better shields
-The Kazon are taller, violent Oompa Loompas
-Much better without commercials and waiting on a weekly basis.
-Captain should have had 3 mutinies already.

I missed many episodes during the years Voyager was on TV. I realize now it's run was during a pretty roller coaster time in my life. Glad I am able to catch up on Voyager, it isn't as aloof as I recall and I am starting to like it.

Seska!

The only thing that bothered me on a regular basis, is the particle wake the ship makes in the planet ring on the intro. The vortices behind the ship are representative of a warp field that is slippery as a brick. cursing smiley

They can't be moving at warp speed in that sequence. It must be impulse.

...Which is not to say that the creators didn't confuse the two. They bullsh!tted a lot in that show. I think their science consultant was a former circus chimp.

Seska was a great villainess. I loved the later episode where

Freya says, 'Hello from NOLA, baby!' (Laissez bon temps rouler!)

And as if, the density of the 'particle ring' would be anywhere near what they show it to be. Hell, close enough as they are (as implied by the reflection) means that they should not be able to see any particles! But as noted, it is pretty.

Ah, the irrepressible Q. I recall that was one of the last episodes I watched on a weekly basis as my life started the roller coaster.

We're about 2/3rds of the way through Season 2 ourselves.

I almost had a family mutiny after making them watch "Threshold," but I promised them that was as bad as it gets.

No... that was Enterprise.
If you don't like the Star Trek threads, best not read 'em ;)

Trek is a popular subject on the forum so this will not be the last. They are clearly marked so no one needs to feel that they must be read or responded to if they feel it is repetitive.
