Kanye - proving yet again why he is an a-hole Date: June 20, 2013 09:31AM |
"Rapper Kanye West attacked by Parkinson's UK charity over 'inexcusably stupid' shaking lyric on track from new album Yeezus,
Kanye West has been accused of ignorance and stupidity after the rapper mocked Parkinson’s disease sufferers on his new album.
The track "On Sight", from the album Yeezus, includes the lyric: “Soon as I pull up and park the Benz / We get this b***h shaking like Parkinson’s.”..."

Is that the only 3 syllable rhyme for "park the Benz" that this creten could come up with?

Kanye is talented, but Kanye is an a$$, and it has nothing to do with his color.
There are lots of talented people, of all colors, who are also a$$ es.

The serious question to ask here is why, in an album filled with disturbing and rude and misogynistic imagery, we are supposed to fixate on the Parkinsons line and condemn West for using it?
Could it be that the public relations people at Parkinsons UK have found an opportunity to promote their cause by publicizing an album that most of us are not going to listen to, let alone buy, which means they are in fact calling attention to it, to use it for their own purposes, use Kenye West for their own purposes.
West isn't my favorite person by any means, but manipulating the media with outrage over one line by a person whose career has been a series of offensive lines seems really opportunistic to me. This is what West does. Some of you who are taking offense at this are the first ones to condemn "PC" "thought police" when it suits you.

Unfortunately my father is no longer around to be subjected to pop music. I'm sure he'd be quite unimpressed with most if not all of what's out there today.
