So what did YOU find out by googling old friends?

Was watching Arrested Development, and an actress (playing a mentally challenged girl, but that's just a coincidence) reminded me of the woman I was dating when I met my wife.

So it took a few hours of googling, but I figured out her married name and where she'd moved to ... and... she died of cancer ten years ago.

I found out a friend from college I'd lost touch with was killed in a hit-and-run incident about 6 years ago.

Discovered that an incredibly weird roommate in college had finally gotten married . And to a very attractive woman ! And was responsible for WEP

Discovered that a "most likely to succeed" friend got into extreme, radical politics and committed suicide. Really sad.

Found out that an old neighbor has scammed the company he worked for out of several hundred thousand dollars and fled across the country but was eventually caught by authorities and served hard time for his deeds.

Ovarian. Long battle with it. She had a tough life -- both her kids were autistic, her dad died, and, toughest of all, she taught fifth grade.

I wish I could call up her mom but what would I say? "Hi, it's Digs, remember, that guy who you thought was going to marry your daughter...?"
(I was close to her brother-in-law, and I googled him as well. So I might email him...)


On a lighter note: Hey, mikebw! I want to hear more about your old neighbor who scammed his company -- where did he "flee" to?

I found out that the incredibly hot girl from middle school lives about 2 miles from me. But I haven't bothered to try to track her down... she probably wouldn't remember me anyway.

The guy moved across the country, East to West, not sure he was really the international criminal type, but seeing the charges against him did explain how he always had the latest Range Rover and Corvette in his driveway... $$$ driving smiley

I also found out that one of the cute girls from middle school is now an actress in the porn adult film industry! eye popping smiley

My first girlfriend is a hippy living in Berkley I believe. My second girlfriend is a biochemist living in Bonn, Germany (she was a German exchange student), my 3rd girlfriend is a belly dancing instructor still living in Pittsburgh. My 4th girlfriend is married and lives in Yakima WA with two kids. My wife is currently in San Diego while I toil away in unbearable conditions while raising our child.

Not exactly an old friend, but I recently Googled one of my old professors from grad school, and was a little shocked to discover that she'd passed away a few years ago. She wasn't especially old, either-- she was 70. No explanation given in her obit, of how she died.

The most likely to succeed became a homeless drunk. Googled best friend in high school and found a DUI conviction. Not via the Google machine but ran into an ex-girlfriend ex-belly dancer who went from 125 lbs to about 275 lbs. Pretty bad and that is a bullet I dodged.


Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

My college roommate is in prison in California for killing a cop. (No surprise.)

A good friend from high school lost his medical license for not releasing medical records for a suit involving a death concerning Ritalin. He was also charged with embezzling from his partner. (Surprise.)

Must say I'm surprised and a bit concerned about the rapscallions you dealmacers have spent time with.

Aside from attending high school with the Falcon and the Snowman, and having an ex-juggling partner who was featured on "America's Most Wanted," I think most of my past associates are doing okay. After reading about your collective pasts, I'm afraid to find out.

She basically appeared in the shape of a big football (she was about 5' 1"). That was thirty years ago. I fear she is no longer alive given her weight. She had married but I don't recall her married name so Google is out. This is a close approximation:
