Does anyone have experience with cat deterrents to spray or sprinkle on lawns so they don't use my lawn as a litter box? The lawn is about 1000 sq feet. Cat p00p is so disgusting, especially when you step in it, or WORSE, you don't see it and mow over it.

NO DOGS. No electric fences, no traps, no poison, no land mines,..

I've heard of some pepper based mixes and pellets but I'm thinking that this is not good for lawns since I will be mowing it. Won't the pepper dust up into my eyes and inhaled in the nose as I'm mowing?

Orange/lemon/citrus sprays sound good. I don't mind reapplying it on the weekends.

Any experience with MRF members?

I know my own cat hates bananas, pretty much anything citrus will keep him away.

Setting up a trap of a late 60's MOPAR to draw him in, then a combination of a salt water spray and a 100kv stun gun seems to work well for Racer X. I have not had him leave anything on my lawn in years.

I use Milorganite fertilizer to help repel deer. I have no idea if it would work on kittehs or not, but it is cheap, and would be good for the lawn, so you might give it a try. I does have a slight odor, when you first apply it, in case this woud bother you.

i think the spray would be most effective. you should be able to configure it so it doesn't spray guests.

The motion sprinkler (Scarecrow) is very effective. It covers a large area and it doesn't hurt anyone. Can you aim it away from walk paths?

i think the batteries last two months or so. you problem should go away by then.

I use it when I notice cat poop around. Then it's out 24/7 for about a month. I can usually remove it after that until I have to "re-train/scare" them again.

The battery is a 9v alkaline and it lasts a decent period. Depends on how often it goes off. Just aim it low and don't set it too sensitive, otherwise wind/cars would set it off. It only spurts for a second or three but the noise and water is enough to keep them away.

I saw it priced online for about $45 once. They are $80 at b/m stores.

I have no idea who's cat it is. I've only seen it a handful of times in the year I've lived here. I'm at work during the day and asleep at night. I see the disgusting t urds on the weekends when I'm doing yard work.
