It will take the world by storm!

It's apparently not enough that Windows runs about 90 percent of the world's laptop and desktop computers. Microsoft now wants to capture a market that does not yet exist: tablet PC's.

In a keynote speech that opened the annual Comdex computer show in Las Vegas this week, Microsoft's chairman, William H. Gates, described a new class of PC, which the company is encouraging computer makers to adopt. He displayed a working prototype of a tablet PC, one of a handful in existence.

Friday night I was talking to a friend who does windows computers with accounting systems for small business. He is die hard windows. I was talking about all the hardware failures Microsoft has had,
I mentioned the Tablet Pc as an example. It was way ahead of anything out there at the time. Microsoft should have run with it but they kind of let it linger and abandoned it.
Another one was the Pocket Pc phone. Really the first smart phone. I had the O2 version. I think I got it around 2003. It worked really well but again Microsoft just let it linger
