Watches: Downside to fabric watch bands

Working in the woods this weekend, I wore my 'working watch', which has a nylon watchband. Must have come in contact with some nasty stuff while I was wearing gloves.

I put the watch on this morning. Just took it off and there's a nice watchband shaped rash on my wrist. Darnit. Time for the Hydrocortisone.

I much prefer leather for that very reason. I've had sawdust from woodworking get lodged in fabric, also causing a rash.

metal, leather, and fabric for dress or relaxation, rubber/polyurethane for work and water.

Reminder:
No watch, no watchband!

Y'know, if I just totaled up the problems people have on my favorite forums, that I don't have to deal with, I'd be more grateful for my less-complicated life.

Now, lest I get cocky, I'll admit that I don't have the benefits of Facebook, Windows 8, Garmin, gaming laptop, USB Death Ray (not as powerful, but less trouble than the old 1980s-Style SCSI Death Ray...), Mac Mini, Roku, Wine Fridge, Twitter, that new Tesla mini-van... or a wristwatch.

I just toss my nylon watchband into the wash. Works great.

I take the SS watchband off my watch and run it through an ultrasonic cleaner full of Windex every 6-8 months. Its appalling what floats out from between the links.
