We are forever Transformed to never repeat

For a 2 minute Transformers' ride we were in line for 2 hours! At least the 13 year old cousin enjoyed it after 30 minutes of persuasion. For some reason she was afraid of most rides at Universal Studio Hollywood but had no problem with roller coaster rides at Magic Mtn smiley-shocked003

Personally, I have a real problem with that whole concept. I have done it myself, both as a kid, and with my kid.

But the idea of spending a big percentage of your day at an amusement park just for one ride seems like a complete waste.

Not to mention that for the park, you'd think they'd want you to have more time wandering the park spending your money on all kinds of other things. Perhaps they do want that, and there's simply nothing they can do about it.

But I don't enjoy the queueing (sp?) at all!

2 hours - wow. my limit is 30 minute. Was Fast Pass available for Transformers?

If you go again you should consider staying on Universal property with the free Fast Pass. the Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific or Portifino

Yes, I didn't know about the Fast Pass until after the fact sad smiley The best time to do any popular ride is one hour or half hour before closing time on a weekday. So we have learned. Personally I have never cared much for theme parks such as Magic Mtn, Universal Studio or Disney. As time goes by the waiting lines at those theme parks gets longer with the admission price's increase, I have become less fond of them. That being said, wife and I only go because of the children in the families.

You just described a scene from my own nightmares. I hate standing in lines.

We visit Busch Gardens with an annual fun pass (pay for a day and get free admission for a year). I've learned the absolute best time to get the most ride for the time is Sunday morning. We are at the gate for opening and go straight to the rides we want. We'll ride the coasters 2-3 times each without even getting off at times. By 1pm we are ready to leave because the waits are up to an unbearable 20 minutes.

Well, they warned us the wait time for the Transformers' ride would be 105 minutes. BIG miscalculation. Too many people too few cars. I must admit I like the setup. No mechanical chains to be broken. No one could fall off the car.

if a ride requires that long of a wait, it's a design FAILURE.

it is completely unacceptable, given the price they charge for admission.

what a racket; yet this is somehow legal. warnings be damned.

of course, it doesn't matter to the parks, who rake in the money, whether people get to ride or not.

Considering this ride just opened two months ago, I would expect it to be busy. I've been to Universal Studio many times in mid September. Wait times with Fast Pass are typically 5-20 minutes.

Or hire the handicapped folks that sell themselves for the day to you and you get to go in to the ride or show with no waiting. I've read were they charge up $1000 a day!

Waiting in line for the Harry Potter Hogwarts ride at universal studios I was able to buy 3 beers during the 2 hour wait.
