I did it once, at an NFL football stadium. It was hard to do all the while trying to keep the beer bottles that were stacked along the top edge from falling off. It probably would have been safer doing it on the concourse cement floor. And cleaner too.

I've done that, in one case for a very frustrated woman stuck in an endless line at a baseball (Dodger) stadium. It must have been before total paranoia struck us since she freely handed over her daughter to a total stranger and got her back unmolested - mom on the other hand I wouldn't have minded molesting.

Dozens and dozens of times. And when the place didn't have one in the men's room I would use the women's. If they didn't have a changing table at all I would use whatever was available including, once, in a fairly large restaurant, the counter where the cash register was located.

Usually at family-style restaurants.

I've used them too. It was a little alarming at first because my head hung off one end and my feet hung off the other end, but you get used to that pretty quickly.

Is your assumption that only women change diapers, so it's absurd that there'd be a changing station in a (gasp) MEN'S room?

Yep, did it quite a bit back in the day. Those things were handy... bathrooms that didn't have them were tricky, trying not to get kids' heads in the sink while I changed them.

Luckily those kids are long past that phase. ::whew::

Are they any different than a changing station in the women's restroom?

I can change a baby diaper in under a minute. When out in public it doesn't need to be perfect. Just needs to get the job done. I've also done it in the open trunk of a car. As a parent you learn really fast, you do whatchoo gotta do.

Used them several times with three children. Other men seemed to be aghast when they walked in and saw me with a kid feet-up. I could not care less what strangers think so I just gave them the deaths stare and they always went and did their business.

This. I've also mastered a one armed, holding the baby, diaper change, (without putting the baby down) which is easier than it sounds if you have a proper shoulder bag and you know how to prep ahead of time.

I used them when the kids were young.

Ininitely better than trying to balance the kid on the top of the toilet tank (had to do that one once).

I do it. Have to wipe it down first as it is usually full of gradoo. It's really tough holding the kid in place, getting the materials out, changing him and getting all the materials back into the bag without him rolling off the table or having him on the floor of the bathroom. Ewww! You get pretty good changing and kid with one hand...

I've never done it. I took the kid out to the car and changed her. I've never been in a situation where the car wasn't convenient.

^This, been there myself back in the day with my two sons. Fortunately that is way in the past now. But I have seen a few other guys using the changing tables over the years. It is one sign of how little things have changed that most still assume just the tables in women's bathrooms will get used for the purpose.

I don't see it very often, but used them myself when my son was an infant/toddler. He's 5 now, so I'm done with those days. As others have said, it's a whole lot better than trying to change them without the table being there. And there were many times where I wished the restroom had one.

Please note that seeing it rarely doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I don't see the tables in the women's restrooms used very often either. But when they are needed, they are needed.
