just used Endicia for the first time. they have a one month free trial and i'm trying to move some used books this month so i thought i'd save myself some trips to the Post Office.

the software is pretty niffy though it took a lot of wasted envelopes to find the right settings and placement for my brother printer. i have a scale so once you input the weight it tells you what the postage should be; saves me going to the USPS website for rate info.

i don't do mailing enough to make it worth $16 a month but for those who do, it is pretty convenient. when the month is over i'll go back to using it's free predecessor Swordfish.

The only advantage of this over the USPS website is the ability to print first class letter postage.

more often than not i also need to do Media Mail which the USPS doesn't allow but Endicia does.

I have an Ascom system that costs $16.95/month. Separate machine from the Mac; built-in 5 pd scale. Most of what I ship is Media rate. I ship every day and haven't stepped into a PO since '02.

You can also use PayPal's postage system to mail anything via MM, FCM, priority, parcel, etc. It doesn't even have to have been paid for through PayPal. Just use the following link: [www.paypal.com]\

I wouldn't bother with this is you're a high-volume shipper, but for an occasional package it's handy to be able to use.
