Been searching out why my 3rd generation Apple TV will not update. Now I know why.

Not sure if I posted the link correctly. If not do a google search with the subject title.

I'd like to thank all the beta testers.

Why? The refurb will come with the older, working software. If not, then it'll come with a non-bricked version of version 6.

This is a transient problem, I bet Apple re-releases the update before your hardware would come in the mail.

Well I guess it was a good thing I didn't get to updating this weekend.

Those are the ones we called "early adopters". I learned long ago that unless there was an urgent need, being an early adopter was rarely a good idea. Been burned less by Apple than others, but even they have issued the occasional bad update.
