Remains of Bodies Found on Costa Concordia Shipwreck in Italy

The remains of two bodies were found on board the wrecked Costa Concordia nine days after the cruise ship was successfully righted in an unprecedented 19-hour operation off the Italian island of Giglio.

“The location of the remains and the first findings lead us to believe that they might be the ones of the two people we were looking for,” Italy’s civil protection agency chief Franco Gabrielli told reporters in Giglio in comments broadcast by SkyTG24. “The DNA test will confirm whether this is actually the case.”

Most other news articles claim the bodies were found on the sea floor near where the Concordia had lain on its side.
<nit pick >

Too often people lost at sea, their bodies wash up some distance from an event, if at all.
So yeah, it is great for every family that everyone is now accounted for and no one anywhere is spending any time mourning a never recovered loved one by the shore.

The captain is still insisting he did nothing wrong.

The captain is still insisting he did nothing wrong.

The captain is still a dirtbag who should be hanged from the yardarm.

IIRC one of these bodies is a waiter who gave his life preserver to another - surely there's some sort of recognition in order.

One would hope so.

I would NOT want to be the tech tasked with procuring DNA samples from those bodies.

It is what it is.

As soon as they refloat the hulk, he should be keel-hauled. THEN hanged.
