I found a decent Shawarma-on-a-pita truck that parks off of Louisiana near Union Station. They layer it with hummus, tomato and cucumber.

There's a food truck locally, "Naan of the Above"... great Naan bread.

When I visited London - Fish and Chips (though to be honest, we ATE it walking down the street, we bought it in a shop).

There are tons of food trucks in Philly these days, but I don't ever buy anything from them.

There are also various vendors selling form tables and carts on the streets of the city, but I don't buy from them, either.

Since we seem to have gone international on this thread, though, I can say that I got some awesome jerk chicken at a street stand in Jamaica! YUM!

Beer. Some friends of friends tried to start a beer festival in Berkeley about 1993. I couldn't figure out why more Cal students didn't show up considering it was a block below campus.

Sugamo, Tokyo - home made daifuku. It's pounded rice (omochi) filled with bean paste mostly, but strawberry in season is my favorite! Oh me, it's good!

Ramen, when ramen man comes by in fall! I could go on and on... Stay away from the shiokara though.

10 peso tacos in Puerto Vallarta. Chicken or catch of the day. Not sure if I ate any iguana without knowing it, but I am doing fine, so it must have been cooked properly.

After my son moved to San Francisco, I texted him, asking a bunch of questions about the best food he'd found there. Got two words back: "Taco Trucks."

Spent a week in SF looking for a particular taco truck he'd recommended. Finally happened on it while randomly walking through the Mission district. Oh, Emm, Gee. Huge pile of food for a buck and a half, and I've never felt anything so "fresh" tasting.

In Paris, in winter, roasted chestnuts.

Porilainen Yum.
Available at night on the streets of Helsinki
My other favorite were Arepas. I used to get them for a Bolivar ($.25) when I worked in Venezuela. They were a deep fried Maza dough stuffed with what very they could find. cheese, pork, beef, chicken, shark or what ever the road kill of the day was.
