Saw Gravity on opening day - no spoilers.

Wouldn't want to ruin the experience for anyone, so no details except this is a new kind of space sci fi film.

I thought it was a terrific movie, and one well worth watching in the theater.

My only comment was the 3D is superbly used. My wife said that it was 'too realistic'.

And I think Sandra Bullock is going to be nominated for an Academy Award. I thought her performance was extremely believable and riveting, given she was filming in a very strange medium.

There was a review that called this 'an iMax film storyline gone bad'. Hard to describe, but there you have it.

I enjoyed the movie, I might go again before it leaves the theater.

"...I think it's the best space film ever done..."
- James Cameron

High praise, indeed. I might have to cough up the $ and see this in a theatre

We caught this on a sneak peek Thursday night in 3D as well. Absolutely agree, this is a must watch in a theater. Sandra Bullock's performance is amazing. The effects completely make you feel like you're in space with her.

Highly recommended

We saw "Lee Daniels' The Butler" (strange title) last night. The folks exiting Gravity seemed happy so I assume both Sandra Bullock and George Clooney burned up in the atmosphere.

We hadn't gone to the movies locally in about 15 years. I was very disappointed at the quality of the 'film.'
Very faded and washed out looking. Not sharp and crisp like it is on our 50" plasma. My wife felt the same way. I don't know if this is the change from film to digital projection or not.

Complain to the management and ask for a refund, they need the feedback.

We thought Oprah was incredible in this movie. It had a bit of a '60s look to it in the theater we saw it in but it wasn't "washed out" in any way. Agree with Spock - digitally-projected films I've seen have been crystal-clear.

Ok, I'll not judge based on one movie in one theatre in 15 years.

Very faded and washed out looking.

I wonder if that was the film or the screen, or the projector.

In my ute, a former girlfriend's father was a projectionist at one of the nicer megaplexes. He complained about a competing place that ran the prints until they were pretty badly worn. They could replace the prints with new ones earlier on, but never did, to keep costs down. Their philosophy was that the movies weren't usually in theater long enough to "need" a fresh print.

For awhile, I got to see a *lot* of movies for free. She abused me as a cheap date.

I loved it.

Only good and great reviews from what I hear but Netflix only gives it 3 stars...this early when it isn't even available.

I just saw it this afternoon - in 3D - and it was excellent! At times I thought I might fall out of my seat and into the earth. Very rivoting movie - stressful, but great! Visuals were amazing. It's not really sci-fi - almost historic as there are no more shuttles...

I'm in.

I'll see it early next week.

IMAX, 3D, of course.

Saw it in IMAX 3D last night.
It is nothing short of amazing in that media. How they created some of the visuals is hard to imagine.
It will be less impressive in non IMAX 2D.
Very suspenseful and gripping.
It will be interesting to hear what some NASA types think about it relative to the accuracy of the technology represented.
It leaves no doubt that space is a very dangerous place for humans.

I may have to see it in iMAX next time.

No iMAX here, but there is an excellent one at the Science Museum.

Thanks for the tip!

I heard a critic on Chicago WGN radio who said he doesn't like 3D, but in this case to be sure to see it in 3D. He said to see it in iMax if possible.

Great movie. One of the best I've seen in a long time. Sandra Bullock was interviewed on The View. She said for most of the scenes, she was in a black box. Makes her acting all the more astonishing. Oscar nomination for sure.
