Gasoline as low as $2.13/Gal. Will we see sub $2??? looking better!
Posted by: Jp!

I have $2.28 here. WOOOHOOO!!! (sorry, it's sad to be happy about $2.28 because I'd love $0.25/Gal)

But, gasbuddy shows it as low as $2.13. Just a tick away from $2!

Here's hoping it keeps going down.

I have noticed it going down a little bit here (central coast of CA) but nothing major. Premium is still roughly $3.40. Arghhh.

Yeah, it's definitely not coming down as fast in CA, where they figure we're not gonna vote for 'em anyways...

If it IS political, then the prices are just right. The west coast who cannot be persuaded by gas prices and even actually would wish they'd go higher, are in fact getting higher prices. And the others who want lower prices are getting them, too. smiling smiley

I was WAY excited to find $2.67 at Costco in Silverdale yesterday - a full 30 cents cheaper than here on the Olympic Peninsula.

Just to clarify, JP- it's not that we WANT higher prices; we just think that it would be easier to accept prices commensurate with the rest of the world if the money was going somewhere other than the lining of a billionaire's pockets.

Hmmm. Am I noticing a pattern here? Gas prices dropping in certain states and not other states?

Prob just a wild conspiracy hair, but after almost six years of this nonsense I'm believe just about anything.

$2.83 at Mobil on Olympic and Western in L.A. on Friday.

$2.79 at Costco Burbank this morning.

Strength without compassion is brutality. Compassion without strength is weakness.

We must train our minds to desire what the situation demands.

The economy is slowing.... look at new and existing home sales. New home construction is slowing down. China took steps to slow it's own economy down which is relief to the commodity markets including oil. There was a lot of investment in oil futures speculating on the hurricane season (which thus far hasn't had any impact on the gulf or oil/natural gas production or distribution - or landfall effects on refineries) and of course the Iran situation continues to ease.

Oil demand/consumption is aslo now projected to ease back some in 2007.

Supply and demand..... And demand/consumption of the Gasoline was lower than anticiapted this summer (wonder why) - and with the major driving season over and with all the major fuel supply stocks at the high end of averages and with no threat presently to that supply and continuing easing of demand - if prices DIDN'T GO DOWN - that would take a heck of a conspiracy.

And as long as we remember to conserve even with prices back down - should help maintain. And of course long term, will be the development of the alternative fuel options which are on their way.

And remeber to complain to your local STATE Governments about gas prices too.... A large part of what a gallon of gas costs is all taxes... and local/state most of all. The States have been very quiet about their part and reluctant to give up the windfall taxes the higher gas costs have provided... even just to cap at cost where the tax stops being added.

At the end of the day - can only hope that the higher cost of oil/gas promotes conservation and alternative energy option development - which it seems to be doing on both counts.

Do you actually use premium? Only a few cars on the road need it.

As far as conserving, I'm doing my part Scion xA getting 37.5mpg. I'll never go back to gas
guzzler I don't care if it's 50¢ a gallon I'm having a blast. My last vehicle got 23mpg.

until it goes back up because higher levels of heating oil production lowers gasoline production.

They used that excuse last winter and it was one of the mildest on record. They charge
what they do because they can and there's nothing anyone can do about it. I bought 300
gallons of oil last winter and it was almost my only source of heat because of my back
problem. Normally I burn a boatload of wood. This winter it's going to be a 13 or 14 SEER
Heat Pump with Oil heat for back-up with a fossil fuel kit.
