Do you need to have a student/teacher email account to register Adobe CS5 EDU?

Hey guys,

I currently have a sale up on eBay for Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Student and Teacher Edition -Full Version: [cgi.ebay.com]

A bidder is asking:

"Do I have to be a student or teacher to install this program on my computer? Are you including all the registration/serial numbers to allow me to install it without being a current student or teacher?"

I honestly don't remember because it was so long ago and I was in grad school. But! I don't remember if you needed specifically an educational email address. Who knows?

Thanks y'all,

t

It's opened because I used it a while back. I think in 2010.

I bought the Adobe CS5 for edu suite when it was a RYF deal, I used my daughters HS student ID to purchase it, and I never needed a .edu email address to install it.

No EDU address needed but I believe you do need to register to use it. So if you used it, it may be registered in your name and would need to be the same address to install it again.

Looks like they frown on reselling an EDU copy of their software.

"You may purchase only one license per platform of any Adobe Student and Teacher Edition product per year. Purchases of suite editions (such as Design Premium or Master Collection) are limited to one title per platform per year. Adobe Student and Teacher Edition products may be used only on your privately owned computer and may not be resold."

Good to know...I was thinking about selling our copy since we've moved to CC recently.

Not to mention, you will have to assure the buyer that you've deauthorized your computer. Just removing the program doesn't deauthorize the computer, either. CS5 is not as obnoxious as Windoze or Mathematica, but almost.
