User ratings. Entirely voluntary, if you want you can opt out... but if I could look at a seller and see a lot of positive rankings, that'd make me more likely to pursue buying something from that otherwise-anonymous person...

Make it mandatory to provide some type of contact info.

Allow more pics.

And most important try to do something about ads that are miscategorized. I don't know how you could control this but it is getting really bad.

Control the over posting by the car dealerships. 10 ads for the same POS gets really annoying.

Kahuna - I find restricting the list to owners only filters out a lot of that dealership spam, but yes, a bit of a pain that the dealerships would game regardless of any restrictions.

I'd like to have the option to keep the "anonymizer" email they give you throughout all correspondence with potential buyers...at least until I've weeded out the phishers and decide to use my real email address.

1. Set up alerts, so I get a notice when something is posted

2. Make the search language more user-friendly.

3. Rank search results by zip code.

Allow state wide searches.

Kahuna: Car dealers now have to pay $5 for every vehicle they post.... should at least slow some of the automated crap down....

dis-allow the use of giant keyword spamming lists in the footer and body of the post...

I hate searching for "Pioneer SX" and getting a hundred pages of results with every other brand of audio product imaginable. If I wanted your crappy Radio Shack piece of @#$%& from 1995 I would search for it by name!

Allow Multi-State (or perhaps Zoned ie. Southwestern US) search for items that do not turn up any/many results.

This sounds like a very good idea since it would be nice to hear from other users' experiences before making the trip to meet the seller.

Allow state wide searches.

Nationwide, too. Searchtempest does this except that it now reports by area and not just one large group which it used to do and whic I preferred.

Founder of SearchTempest.com here. This came up in my Google alerts. Just wanted to mention that you can easily get everything in a single list by changing the "Sort by" box on the results page.

Cheers,
