that's a whole lotta netflix. do you just leave it streaming to keep the cat company while you're out?

Something is wrong here. I no longer use Netflix streaming, but when I did, I never used more than about 100-125 GB per month. Now I use something like 30-50 GB a month. At most.

I learned just recently that Uverse users -- like me -- have unlimited bandwidth.

Really wouldn't even know how to check.

Are you viewing HD movies on any of the services? 1080 movies can be 3 GB. I have gotten close to 250 GB several times but I don't think I have ever gone over by more than 10%.

we started Breaking Bad on Neflix in December and finished it in January. That would be about 30-35 episodes in January. Then add 13 episodes of House of Cards. The rest must be youtube and radio streaming. I really don't know what else it could be.

I think you meant to say you have unlimited downloads. Your bandwidth is almost certainly limited... by the laws of physics if not AT&T.

In fact, Uverse is AT&T's hedge to provide video services without bringing fiber to the premises of their customers. It's markedly slower than cable due to the limitations of the POTS-based copper line coming to your endpoint... and at best they offer something in the tens of MB per second capacity... This in turn would ultimately limit your downloads as well... to something on the order of 20 TB a month.

Just sayin. Plus, I have to rag on the big bad telco/cable providers whenever I can.

just checked my account. says my limit is 300GB. we used 222GB in January. my son finally has a job so that number is bound to decrease. the account also says i have 3 courtesy overage months meaning i'm allowed to go over 3 different months before they'll start billing me.

My residents use comfortably over 1TB every month. We got the faster Time Warner inter webs for that.

If Charter buys TWC, I'm screwed. It would be cheaper to buy a T-Mobile cell phone with LTE and unlimited, set it up as a hot spot, and go with that.

I think that something else is going on.

I installed hola on my MBP in mid Jan to watch the last 8 episodes of breaking bad from Netflix UK. But even before that the usage was high. I need to disable hola after the Olympics and see if useage goes down

T-Mobile limits hotspot usage to 2.5GB at full speed and then throttled thereafter. Unlimited non throttled mobile data is limited to the phone itself. You might be able to get around this with an unlocked phone, but carriers can usually figure out if you are tethering.

Comcast currently has NO limit on bandwidth.

It's stated in the last sentence of your screenshot: Note enforcement of the 250GB data consumption threshold is currently suspended.

Comcast enforced this limit a few years ago, but hasn't formally enforced it since.
