Grandfather's Longines 5 Star Admiral Watch

Another watch, but not really new. I found this in a box of my grandfather's effects a couple of years ago and I remember him wearing it, all the time.

As a result, the case was pitted and dirty and crystal cracked. Luckily, the dial was pristine.

I finally sent it off to be serviced, including a new crystal and some body work on the case.

I was very pleased with the end results.

I topped its rebirth with a Kelaran (American made) real crocodile band.

The watch is from the mid 60's. Mechanically, it isn't anything special as Longines go, but of course its value comes from its history.

That is a classic looking watch, I like it. Nice save.

Hey, grumpy, I found this in my dad's effects after he passed in December:

He has a couple of old watches too-pretty beat up-but if I can PM you with pix, perhaps you can advise me about them?
