[eshop.macsales.com]?

Much USB enclosure. So inexpensive ! Wow !

That Wifi N adapter looks interesting... I wonder how it would work at the focal point of a golf umbrella lined with aluminium foil ? devil smiley

I purchased a couple of those Touro USB 2.0 cases last year and I had nothing but trouble with them recognizing my drives, even after formatting the drive in the new enclosure.

IMHO, these are worthless. I guess I will put my two up on free Monday!

Whiip,

I have one of those and had trouble with it, too. That and it's made like garbage, IMO. Not worth the price I paid and I got it dirt cheap via the garage sale.

Open it up and you'll see it's run by a 256 kb cache chip from a PowerMac 6100.

Shouldn't have any trouble at all - and any one component is worth more than the whole... but - as noted, it does require that you re-initialize any drive you install into it, but as long as that isn't a problem - these have been effectively without issue. If you have a bad one - we'll send ya a new one. smiling smiley

It is a cheap, plastic case that HGST has - but functionally they have been ok.

Thanks, Larry, but these aren't really worth sending back.

I made the decision to buy it after reading your caveats, but my two are not worth worrying about. If you feel bad, then give me and Robert M. a store credit.

Thanks for your response.

peace

I guess I got lucky with the Touro cases I picked up.

Goes off to count lucky stars.

Mine have been working fine. No issues with any drives I've tried to use in it, other than the obvious reformatting.
