Has anybody used Spinrite on a Mac?

And if so, how is it done?

I'm curious if this is worthwhile software to keep handy.

If one had both SpinRite and Data Rescue, could they be used consecutively, and if so, should they be used in a particular order.

AFAIK, Spinrite 6.1, which is the first version to run on the Mac is not available yet.

Thanks.

The site said it could work on any file system, any OS, if I recall correctly.

Maybe that meant it could work on any drive as long as it was connected to a PC.

I think Spinrite was the application that could fix the damaged Zip disks that caused the COD.

I have SpinRite and it will work on any disk - just has to be in a PC for now.

You can do 50% of what SpinRite does by reading every sector of a disk ( such as dd if=/dev/rdisk0 of=/dev/null bs=1m ) and getting the drive to do its own thing.
