I got yesterday's episode all watched this morning.... good one, I thought.
The main terrorist is well cast, I think. One gigantic moment of stupidity though.... they seemed to know it and moved over it quickly....

I'm amassing most the episodes so I can watch three or four at a time, before I start in.

I am that Masked Man.

All you can do, is all you can do.

There’s trouble — it's time to play the sound of my people.

Your boos mean nothing to me, I've seen what you cheer for.

Insisting on your rights without acknowledging your responsibilities isn’t freedom, it’s adolescence.

I've been to the edge of the map, and there be monsters.

We are a government of laws, not men.

Everybody counts or nobody counts.

When a good man is hurt,
all who would be called good
must suffer with him.

You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead.

There is no safety for honest men except
by believing all possible evil of evil men.

We don’t do focus groups. They just ensure that you don’t offend anyone, and produce bland inoffensive products. —Sir Jonathan Ive

An armed society is a polite society.
And hope is a lousy defense.

You make me pull, I'll put you down.

I *love* SIGs. It's Glocks I hate.

Yes. This went way beyond baseline stupidity.

I don't get the BSG reference. Are they referring to the original seventies series?

Yes. This went way beyond baseline stupidity.

I have not yet seen the newest 24 but the entire show is based on completely unrealistic plot devices like this. A phone call to Chloe and she can get a full building schematic of a building Jack's in, data merged with bad guys' radios so she has a visual representation of where the baddies are, and she can send all of this instantly to Jack's phone over the SPRINT NETWORK? Doesn't get more unrealistic than that.

Jack dying and getting shot in the leg, and an hour later he's running around chasing bad guys. I mean there are so many unrealistic elements to the show in the past, that the drone thing you describe seems to be the least unrealistic thing about it! I mean we have cameras that can retroactively focus on an image today.

You had to see it. Of course you need to suspend reality to watch the whole thing, but at the same time you like to think someone somewhere along the line made an effort to have the faux-technology not just cross the line into cartoon-like fantasy.
I guess what really didn't work in that case

I tend to binge watch so I'll probably watch after the season is over. I'll be watching for the drone. ;)

My favorite 24s were probably the first season, when Bauer wasn't yet super-spy, and the Africa side story. I roll my eyes a couple times the rest of the seasons. But I do find it enjoyable overall.
