So I put a couple of D-Link IP cameras in my late in-laws house which we are trying to sell as a sort of 'home security' system. Plus one of those Quirky Spotter devices, which alerts if the humidity in the basement is too high (sign of a leak) or temperature is off (sign of a heating problem), etc..

Well, IP cameras are fine and all, but I'd like to find a way to record them. And the twist ?

I don't have a computer at that house to do the recording on.

How can I use evocam or sighthound to record an ip camera from outside the house ?

I use Synology enclosure with Surveillance Station. A bit pricey.

this is definitely possible. you simply need to make their ip address accessable (dynamic ip address?) and then make sure the port that the camera is on is forwarded from the router.

that said, whats their internet connection like? it might not make the trip well / might get dropped frequently.
