There was a flyer in my latest bill saying that they've doubled my speed to 50 Mbps and I just needed to reboot my cable modem to see it.

Ran a speed test, I was getting about 28 Mbps before. Rebooted the modem, and now I'm seeing 57 Mbps. If they keep this up, at some point in the future my 100 Mbps router may become a bottleneck.

Another thing I noticed several months ago is that they quietly got rid of their "Speed Boost" "feature", that initial fast speed never drops to a slower speed after a short period, it stays the higher speed continuously.

I just checked mine and got this. Seems pretty good to me.

TWC is speed bumping us in LA soon, along w/ NYC., and other cities to follow. The tech said 35 more days, two days ago, w/ some 'hoods already jammin' full throttle. Paying for 30/5, getting 40+/10, should go to 100/20 in less than 4 weeks and 5 days. Google fiber and local municipalities that are growing their own fiber networks are gonna kick the snot out of internet connectivity. For folks that live in areas w/ minimal competition, this is great news. We've come a long way from the days of ISDN being "high speed".

My MRF crystal ball says the next hot deal topic is gonna be about gigabit cable modems...

Charter's Speed Test just yielded 105Mbps down & 4Mbps up.
Was upgraded about 3 months ago

One of the Xfinity units on my wifi list is averaging 105-140 mb/sec.

I tested again earlier today still 3.4 down/.89 up.
I am thrifty. $19.99 per month

Competition is good!

just rebooted modem here, and no significant change. Our area does not have a lot of competition, so there's probably no real incentive for Comcast to give us a boost.
