Obligatory temporary access post

I am away from home, so I can actually post instead of just reading the posts. Was finally able to answer the Instant Message asking for my IP address. Three e-mails to the Contact Us link down at the bottom of the page got responses from someone at price.com. (????) But no unblocking of my IP or whatever the problematic element in my home network is. Are there any well-known and commonly used blocked DNS addresses? I assume all of earthlink is not blocked.

Sorry - I didn't think of it before.

Use [webproxy.net]

It's an instant proxy web page - use it to visit a web page and they can't see where you are from. I imagine it would be slower, but it should work.

A little late to this:

How do you know that you're being "blocked" and that it's not just a DNS/firewall/antivirus/CSS/cookie/etc. problem on your end of things?

Doesn't load any page here.

Hmmm - it's down... try this: [hidedoor.com] or search 'web proxy' there are a million of them...

Nothing was changed in my home setup. It would have to be a cookie problem on multiple devices, iOS and OS X. There is no antivirus software running. Firewall settings in OS X have not been changed. From one day to the next, something changed and I began getting the pink alert here. What kind of CSS problem on my end would cause this?

I don't know what message you're seeing. Sometimes CSS hides or shows the wrong content if it loads incompletely. Doesn't seem like that's the case if it's occurring on multiple devices.

...So you're getting a pink alert from the forum that your IP has been blocked/banned? Like, the forum loads but then an alert pops up that is clearly being generated by the phorum software?

It explicitly says that your IP has been banned?

Have you tried PMing mrp-admin with your IP address to request that you be unbanned? (Probably more effective than emailing some random OWC person from price.com).

I've reported this thread to the mods. Maybe they can un-ban you or kick it up to someone who can do so.

Yes, it's the pink alert that says my IP, ISP, or domain has been blocked. Replying to PMs only works from locations other than home, like posting, but I was at a location where I have wifi access today so I was able to reply to a PM asking me to confirm my IP address. Maybe it's a problem eith the DNS servers?

Nope.

If the IP has been banned in the Phorum software (as evidences by a message to that effect when the forum loads in your web browser) then someone at their end banned it.

If they haven't provided you with an explanation then I suppose it's a mistake. Maybe someone clicked the wrong button.

it is probably a test. The mrp-admins noticed we spend too much time on MRF and decided some of us need to get a life. You are the first one being tested. If sucessful, the prorgam will be rolled out to all of us.

I do need to get a life, but not because I spend too much time here. It's after 10PM and I am still not done with tonight's jobs. I hate days like this.

I suggest that they find another guinea pig for their forum cold turkey test.
