My morning walk

I have been living in my new house for two weeks now. Perhaps I should say I've been unpacking for two weeks now. I decided to take a break and resume my daily walks. I was well rewarded with views along my new road. Beside the nature views there are some amazing houses in this area. I will include a driveway pic that blew me away. Pics taken with iPhone5.

Uh Dave, please stop taking photos of my driveway.

When we get through with all the fixes to your new home, maybe you can invite us over for a taste of one of your beers.

My house is nice. I like it a lot although there will be some remodelng eventually. I definitely have the lesser home in my area though. These other houses blow me away. I am very fortunate. Forum members are always welcome but I have no homebrew as I've been out of hobby for three years.

It's probably better to have a home that's less expensive than the median home in an area than one that's above the median.

davemchine's secret word is: 'b low me'. Speaking of, is that a surface to air missile parked in the driveway? Definitely more upscale than our neighborhood. We do have an old dairy farm close by but the driveway is much, much shorter and no fancy gate.

I really like that stone driveway! thumbs up

I assume you're in an area with little, or no snow. I'm not sure I would want to plow that driveway. I also assume you're in a low crime area, amiright? :-)

Oh yeah, that gate! Looks like it would be hard to knock down. And I notice they have a card reader to gain access. smiley-shocked003

Rick-o, wrong on both counts! I live in central washington state and we do get snow every winter. I agree that my neighbors driveway would be a pain to plow in the winter though! Also, the town I live in is very high crime. I am fortunate to live in a nicer neighborhood. My special word will be "fortunate."

Actually, there is a home not far from Dave that actually does look quite a bit like this. There's a wide range of homes around this area: everything from "how can anyone live there?" all the way up to "I wonder how many South American Banana Republic Dictators live around here?"

How can anyone live here?

To the east of this property, connected to the main driveway is the servant's quarters. It's bigger than my home...by a large margin.

That driveway isn't an issue in the winter. It won't affect the helicopter at all.

Is it really a servants quarters? I had always thought it was a guest house. Yes, very very impressive though. I certainly wouldn't want to clean it.

That's what the servants are for.

If a man has to worry about clearing his mile long bricked driveway, he has no bidness owning one.

High crime in the middle of Washington state? That surprises me - what do you think causes that?

My guess is drug addicts, most likely meth...

Yakima has been a drug hub for a very long time. Yakima also has a very high poverty rate. I'm sure the two combined accounts for our crime problems.
