My Software Update appears to be showing it as a download right now (via a partially rendered screen).

Edit; I must have missed the interoffice memo. Looks like rollout was part of yesterday's Apple event. off the air smiley

Yep. I downloaded it overnight on my MBP; it was ready for installation this morning.

iPhoto had to be upgraded and the photos cannot now be opened by previous iPhoto versions. Other than that, all seems to be well.

The MBP is not my main computer so I was OK taking a chance on V1.0.

I've got it running on my iMac since yesterday with no problems.
had to upgrade Kindle app, Trim Enabler and the Wacom Tablet Preferences, but eveything is running without a problem, so far (knock wood).
Upgrading my MBA right now.

Of course, I made clones of the drives before I upgraded, just incase.

...and Carbon Copy CLoner to v5

I assume you can still import photos from older versions INTO the new version, right?
I have some old photos that I haven't yet imported into iPhoto, so I need to know if I need to do this before I update.

Can anyone remind me how to put the update on a usb stick so I only have to do it once? Did it for the last upgrade but I forgot how.

Now off to download it and dig up an 8gigger.

Wow, to me it seems like a lot of changes. Will take me time to get used to it.
Big appearance changes with Safari

I upgraded my laptop which I use for casual use. I think if I had fully thought it through I would have waited though. The interface changes are dramatic and not entirely easy to understand. I'm not saying I don't like it but I am saying it is a big step.

Remember when Apple's raison d'ĂȘtre was to simplify the UI?

I have some old photos that I haven't yet imported into iPhoto, so I need to know if I need to do this before I update.

The new iPhoto imported my old photos just fine. It gave a warning that old versions of iPhoto would not be able to open the photos once converted.

The alert to the new iPhoto did not come from Software Update but instead came from iPhoto. After installing Yosemite the iPhoto icon in the dock had a bar across it; clicking on that told me to I had to upgrade iPhoto and it took me to the app store to do that.
