Email-Fax services - Recommendations please?

Can anyone recommend a good non-spammy email-fax service? I used eFax a long time ago and it always felt shady. I'm looking to email-fax a ream of documents to my bank later tonight and would like a relatively safe service as these are financial docs with my SSN on them.

I'm willing to pay $10/month or whatever for the month, just to ensure it's done properly. I'll probably be faxing about 150 pages of proof of income, taxes, etc.

So, hit me with your suggestions!

I don't think any of the $10 a month services will let you fax out that many pages?

Oh, and I think efax changed their name to myfax?

No access to a do everything printer and a landline?

If you happen to have the full version of Acrobat, you can save as a password-protected PDF and then share via Dropbox or the like. That's what I did when when sending a bunch of sensitive docs to a mortgage broker awhile back.

Unfortunately I'm sending this to a bunch of loan officers at a call center for my bank, so I can't password-protect a PDF. It needs to be able to be read by anyone on the other side of the fax machine.

jdc, here are a few plans that have 300 - 500 pgs per month plans:

I can't tell if HelloFax is still around or not. It seems like they stopped posting to their FB page in March of this year but their Twitter account is up to date.

OK. I didn't understand. So them being able to receive it as a fax is a requirement.

I'm surprised banks don't offer other options because emailing and processing as a fax through a service like this is not going to be secure. I would press the bank for another option.

Trish, I've had the same need since I ditched my land line. Please let us know what ends up working for you.

Maybe check out VOIP providers that also offer fax services as an option...
as opposed to just checking out fax providers; w/ the thought being that those options might be inherently less spammy.

Here are some recommendations I've gathered from FB friends who are also self-employed:

TrustFax - [www.trustfax.com] (A friend has used this for 7 years with good experience)

PamFax - [www.pamfax.biz] - (Another friend has used this for 5 years with good stability and she's been a digital nomad for the past 3 years in an RV)

A third friend recommended HelloFax. I'm glad to see that's still around.

I'll be deciding tonight when I fax all my paid invoices for 2014 and the last three years of tax returns to my bank. Bastards.

Good luck!

Wouldn't it be neat if someone invents a way to send fax documents using a computer. Sort of like a cable modem but one that you can connect to the phone line and it can send faxes from your computer. Maybe call it a fax-modem or something. It could be used to send faxes anywhere in the world. Maybe name it something catchy like GlobalFax. I'd love to see Apple invent something like that for the Mac. </snark>

I have a number of older Macs that can send/receive faxes. In your situation I would create one long PDF file using Preview and just before going to bed, send off my fax. Except! My Ooma receives faxes okay but isn't very reliable for sending faxes. Ooma does note that it isn't fax compatible.
