Cat annoyance / mystery

My girlfriend's cat will leave a small spot, typically on the bed (white sheets), typically after a good petting.

This is really annoying and we'd like to stop it. Already too him to the vet who found nothing wrong with him.

Any advice?

Try a bad petting ?

If it is a spayed pet with lowered (or no) more sex hormones it can lead to a small amount of involuntary urethral leakage. Does with dogs anyway. Hope it improves or get them a 'blanket' you can wash and limit sleeping/petting places. Easy with a dog, probably not so easy with most cats.

Your girlfriend is obviously turning on the cat. Does she look like this?

If so, there is your problem.

You should have definitely left your girlfriend's mom alone. Unless she was hot!

Did the vet check the cat's anal glands?

So are we talking about the cat peeing? Or do you not know *what* is causing the spot?

Anal gland leakage usually has a rather strong smell, FWIW. Can't speak to the flavor.

Yes, and said they're fine.

Could it be drool?

Hm, after talking to my girl it's definitely anal gland related. (Reddish brown, stinks...)

But it seems pretty unusual that it occurs with petting / purring.

...also trying to get this kitty comfortable having his claws trimmed. This guy is a little more difficult to 'civilize' than my kitty.

The anal glad thing can happen when they are happy and you are petting them. BooBoo used to accidentially musk me like that, when I was petting her, especially if she was getting a butt rub. grinning smiley
