IOS sync challenges since updating to OS8.1

In the past my wife and I have configured our IOS devices to have the same iCloud account (mine). This allowed us to share reminders, notes, contacts, calendars, and safari bookmarks. Unfortunately IOS8.1 blocks certain features if you do this. To be specific the iCloud account and the FaceTime account must be the same in order to use message forwarding. Also, the iCloud account and Find My Friends must be the same in order to use that feature. So now to find a new solution.

I changed my wife's IOS devices to use her own iCloud account but turned off reminders, notes, contacts and calendars. Then I added my own iCloud email address and turned those items on. It looks just like it used to.

BUT I cannot figure out how to get my safari bookmarks onto her phone. Also, I don't know how she could see my photo stream pictures. I tried creating a smart album but I don't see a way to share it to her.

Kind of a long message but hopefully someone will have a suggestion.

I haven't kept up with the photo stream changes but you used to be able to share with other people, not just other iOS devices within the same AppleID.

As for the rest of what you want to do, I can't say since I'd never want to do that, and doubt it's intended to be used like that. Pretty much everything related to and AppleID is intended to be personal.

In previous versions of IOS you could add an email address and include safari bookmark syncing. That was removed in either IOS7 or IOS8. Apple also removed the ability to sync bookmarks from your computer to your phone. So there used to be two ways to share bookmarks and now there appears to be none.

One, not none.

If you know of a way to share bookmarks please share it. That's what I'm trying to learn.

You could export your bookmarks from your Mac user account Into the Hard drive/Users/Shared Folder. Log in to her Mac User account and import them into Safari.

Once that's done, any changes in your bookmarks can be emailed to her iCloud mail at the time of the change. She can then click on the link and make it a bookmark.

Cumbersome, but it will work.

I solved the Safari bookmark problem by creating an 2nd account on my iMac and assigning my wife's iCloud id to it. Then I installed Safari Xmarks to sync the bookmarks from my account to hers. it worked great.

I've found an acceptable solution regarding photos as well. SyncPhotos will sync pictures from my iPhoto library to the photo library in her new account and then iCloud will take them the rest of the way. There is an option to copy "pictures from the last year" so I don't have to copy everything. It is in progress now. I'm taking advantage of the 7 day trial and if it is working satisfactorily I'll pay the $20 registration.

Another, possibly better, solution for the photos is to use Dropbox camera access. That would provide sharing of ALL pics taken on the camera's. That would work just like when we were sharing my photo stream. The downside would be teaching my wife to use dropbox photos instead of apple photos.

SyncPhoto's finished and appears to be doing it's job just fine. It doesn't allow us to share a single photo stream like I would prefer but it keeps us synced to our primary iPhoto library. I think that will be adequate. I did turn on camera access in dropbox which provides access to the most recent photos but not editing unless I copy the photo to the camera roll on the phone.

When Macs or iOS stuff are signed into the same iCloud act, each has the opportunity to include Safari. Bookmarks, history and any open tabs across all devices is automatic.
