Illustrator CS6 + Yosemite = no joy

I didn't want to move to Adobe's subscription Creative Cloud so I've stayed with CS6.

I recently upgraded to OS 10.10 (Yosemite), and now when I try to launch Illustrator CS 6 I get a dialog which declares that "To open Adobe Illustrator CS6.app you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime" with a link to an Apple URL which presumably led to the appropriate Java installer, but the link no longer goes to an active page (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572).

Illustrator appears to be the only CS6 app with this problem; Photoshop = fine, InDesign = fine.

Does anyone know where I can find the legacy Java SE 6 runtime installer on the Internet?

Not sure why it refers to 6, as the version is all the way up to 8 now:

I just realized this is the same link you provided, but it works for me...

I'm honestly starting to wonder if I've been blacklisted by the forum admins or something...

Why wouldn't you want to install the latest version of Java??

SUCCESS! Thanks for input on finding a working link to the Java 6 download.

For john-o; because Illustrator CS6 was refusing to run without the older version.

Glad you got it working. I've been thinking about upgrading my home machine, but I'm not moving from CS6.

I'm using CS6 on my iMac and had no problem when I upgraded to Yosemite.

5.5 is still working great for me in Mavericks. Hoping it will be OK in Yosemite too, but I'll need to take time to make sure.

It seems I've stayed one OS behind the last several releases—just because I'm fearful of losing my last paid standalone version of the Master Collection. But each time when I've eventually upgraded, it's been fine.
