5-Point Screwdrivers?

I bought one of those 300 GB Seagate external FW/USB drives at Bestbuy with the intention of putting the 300 GB drive in my Mac and putting a smaller drive in the FW case.

Unfortunately, I was stopped by these screws with a 5-point star pattern. Like a Torx, but only 5 points.

I tried to buy a driver at Sears, but they didn't have any like that. I found this:

But, it looks like it's for very small screws. I guesstimate that I would need a Torx T8 or T10 if it were a six pointer.

I would have tried some Torx bits, but the screws are recessed about an inch in a hole that the driver's shaft won't fit in.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The company also replaced the nominal six-point Torx Plus socket with a five-point design.

Those Five Point Torx bits aren't available to the end user.

Those are called PentaScrews. They are made by SATAN.

Same company that makes the PENTIUM.

Yeah, I ran across stuff like that in my Googling. Thing is, they are available. I found a set of 11 bits for ~$100. Hardly worth it for my needs.

But like I said, I can't use the bits. I may drill the screws out or just leave it alone.

how about getting BB to back them out for you?

why do you need to remove them? Aren't they drive seal screws?

Nope. They are holding two parts of the plastic case together.
