MR Forum Fit Club

To encourage fitness goals, share experiences, educate and uplift each other.

If you haven't started yet, you are welcome at anytime.

Share as much or as little as you want with the group.

Starting out doesn't need to be a big step, just take that step.

You are worth it.

Holiday eating in full force. I went to In N Out Burger for the first time in 4 months. It was well worth the wait. I fear things will get out of hand this week. Be strong my friends.

Last week: 3 upper body workouts, 2 one hour stationary bike sessions

This week: Goal is to do 3 upper body workouts. 1 leg related workout.

So far this week, lots of walking while shopping. Upper body workout kneading dough and making Kolach.
Tomorrow I go to NYC and visit my children all of whom are up four flights of stairs.

It is going to be a tough couple of weeks. If I don't gain five pounds I'll be surprised.

We are visiting my in-laws and my interval training partner packed her brand new, never been worn shoes rather than her old, broken in shoes so we will be doing little training but at least some walking, and she already finds that painful. I'll have to tape her feet. On the bright side, the weather in Mexico City is very nice. On the dark side, the food is amazing. On our next trip I think I will push to go someplace where roaches and ants are the main course.

Last week I only got about a dozen miles on the treadmill and a measly 1.2 miles of walking.

I picked up and tossed around 18,900* pounds 5 times in the last ten days, mostly on the weekend.

billb takes the prize for toughest and best all-around workout - so far. Do it every week and you'll soon be pushing Arnold and Chuck off to the side.

I went out for a beer with my work buddies today = +250 calories
I rode my bike back up the hill to get home after = -550 calories

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Workout Monday morning did not go very well. Left arm just was not into the weight lifting and the whole routine left me more tired than usual. Trainer backed off on two parts of the routine.

Don't know what went awry but it was certainly a mental setback, if not a serious physical one. Dropping one of those weights out of my left hand onto my head WOULD have been a physical setback!

Rain all day stopped the 2 mile walk although I was not sedentary.

Should get the walk in Wed and Thu and Friday I'll make another run at the whole routine.

I've maintained my walks at 2.2 miles each day and I'm mixing in home physical therapy. I can tell certain motions, such as getting out of bed, are becoming less painful. Like several others I've been eating too much. Will be glad when the Christmas cookies and the temptation are gone.

This time of year? Ick!!

That said, we did have a beef roast last night with roasted potatoes, carrots, and celery. The gravy probably neutralized the benefits of the veggies though.
