How to disable Open/New dialog window when launching Pages, TextEdit, etc.

Not sure when this feature started, but I don't want the New/Open/Done dialog window to pop up every time I launch applications such as Pages, TextEdit, Keynote, etc.

Is there a master control or a Terminal line of code that can turn this irksome feature off? I just want to launch an app and me decide what I want to do with it.

My Textedit in 10.10.1 just comes up with a new document, ready to type into.

On Pages it comes up with "Choose a Template" but if you just ignore it and go under "File", Open, and Open Recent. . . are available.

Keynote is the same as Pages.

How weird. That's just how my apps used to open as well. I have no idea where this Open/New dialog window started appearing or why. I'm still researching the cause...
