Birthday gift suggestions?

Trying to think of what to get the husband for his 53rd birthday this Saturday. He is a freelance photographer and owns a Canon 10D with 3 lenses right now. I got him a G5 1.8 single Power Mac for his 50th birthday but don't have the money for a new Mac Pro. I would like to order something online as I am home with a broken right wrist and can't shift on my TDI Passat,(soon to be running on veggie oil!). Looking for suggestions in the $500 range, from any and all Mac afficionados or other photographers. Ideas? Can a dual G5 be had for sub $1000? Ideas on slide scanners? His SCSI scanner is a little outdated. Thanks all!

I think the computer sounds fine, and for $500, you can't really improve that that much. Does he have an ipod, a video ipod could be a great gift and every mac user should have an ipod.

What kind of display is he using. $500 may get you into a much larger and nicer flat panel, or get a second display, which would also be nice for photos.

A Mini was a thought I had. He has a spare CRT monitor around somewhere. We also have a laserwriter in some closet so I'll have to pass on that!

An Intuos tablet might be worth looking at, my husband does photography as a hobby and I bought him one for his birthday, he loves it.

Jesse,
Thanks! That is just what he needs and has always wanted! I'll check out the site. The local Apple Store had a refreshed 1.66 Mini with SD and 80 G HD for $649, but I really couldn't see that he really needed it. When my birthday or Christmas rolls around he usually just gets me the newest iPod incarnation. Though he did pony up for a Macbook for the last b-day after I sold my 12" PB 1G. The best Mac related gift he ever gave me was EyeTV. I travel overseas a lot with an airline. You can only watch CNN so much. I download all my favorite programs and transfer them to the laptop and I am set for the long layovers!
