Long shot, I know, but I've got to make a $500 purchase within the next day or two. Looking to see if anyone has an unused coupon code on hand.

Go to the post office and pick up a change of address packet. There is usually a 10 or 20 percent off coupon in that.

Open a credit card account. That usually gets you a discount. And may let you pay interest free over 6 months.

My local post office no longer has those 10% movers coupon, but you can do it online, it takes $1 (they need a credit card to confirm your ID), and then you cancel, but you still get the PDF with coupons.

ebay has a bunch as well -- but read the fine print.

Not really, anymore. Its a code-to-get-a-code. The usps mover's packet contains a lowe's ad that has code #1, which you then need to enter online and then they email you the real coupon. Using the ad directly in-store worked for me once and failed the next time. Same story at home depot--first time they accepted the lowes not-a-coupon but the next time denied.

Good to know. Thought it would have to be figured out sooner or later. I know it still works on the online change of address.
