I like the Edition.
Subtle bling, no Bling!
Anybody remember when people thought gold nugget watches were good looking? Bling Gauche.
Starting price is totally reasonable for a watch in this class. And that class isn't for everybody.
I can't wait to see the price of the bands.
I'm not sure if I want to stick with a 13" 'Book, or try the new 12". I *wiil* hit the local neighborhood Apple Store. I'm really curious about the keyboard. I like that the keys are wider. The shallow travel might take a bit to get used to.
Either way, it's a new book for me.
And I'm lusting after a Watch.

Wow. The stainless steel band alone costs more than the sport edition watch itself.

I think it's misleading that chocolate bunnies aren't labeled as hollow, and shouldn't even be allowed to be sold.

Most of the hollow chocolate bunnies are made of such inferior waxy chocolate they should not be allowed to be called "chocolate" bunnies. They should be called "hollow brown Easter basket fillers, for display only."

Hey now. Be careful, or you'll be accused of being a chocolate snob.
Random thoughts--
That picture of the crowd in front of the store is scary. I don't think capitalism is inherently evil, but it looks like the crowd is worshiping at the temple of Jobs.
It's just like Apple/Ive to design a machine with only one USB port, when two would have made it much more functional. For all the talk of design and elegance, his products can be clunky when in use. Dongles and adapters are not elegant in any way, shape, or form.
And...yet another MB model line in the mix...what happened to the simple product matrix that Jobs so proudly showed off? If the MBr had been some sort of convertible or hybrid, I can see more of a point, but it's really just a sleeker, slightly crippled Air with a nicer screen.
I'm curious about the Watch, but wait for v2.0.

They could have easily put another reversible USB3 port on the other side.
What if your battery is low, but you still want to keep working, but need to access files on an external drive? No can do without a docking station, since I'm not sure a reversible USB 3 hub exists.
The effective resolution is actually lower on this than the rMBP, not even looking at the MBP Air. 2304x1440 (1152x720 effective) vs. 2560x1600 (1280x800 effective) vs 144x900 (MB Air)
I'm not sure how this will fit into their product line, it seems, like was mentioned, that Apple's product line is becoming too varied, like it was in the old days when Apple tanked. It makes me wonder if Jobs were still here, would he have killed the Air line and replaced it with this Macbook? This Macbook essentially is an updated version of the air, heck, it's even lighter than the Air.
I'm surprised to see that the non-retina 13 MBP is still around, I would have thought that they'd kill that off as well, seeing that it hasn't been updated in years.

Were you expecting that product discontinuation announcements would be part of today's agenda? Doesn't normally work that way...

The Stainless can be had for $600 with the Sport band, and the Steel band could be had later.
