Last I saw, Sprint decided to buy them and continue operating as RadioShack. So they'll probably become even worse than they were..

looks like my local store is flush. Gonna head over tomorrow and pickup a wired keyboard for future proofing.

Maybe I will give the trackpad a try... not sure that I can abandon a mouse...

Every mouse I used eventually gave me wrist problems, I thought I'd try the apple trackpad until the pain cleared up, then I'd try a new mouse. The pain cleared up, but I never got around to using other mice - the trackpad is good enough and never bothers the wrist. I keep meaning to add a mouse - any mouse to the system, but never get around to it.

just popped in a RS today; the markdowns (20-25%) were underwhelming.

I could use a new keyboard but there are no stores with 100 miles that have one.

Strange RS search results: no keyboards available at stores within 25 miles, but 2 stores show up when the range is narrowed to within 10 miles. One is pretty close by, so I may stop by just to see which search was correct.

The Radio Shack closest to me is already closed down.

Well, it showed a local store had Magic Trackpads in stock so I went this morning. Didn’t see any, so I asked the guy. “No, we don’t carry those.” Oh, but the website... “Oh, we stock them sometimes, but they’re not on sale.” Oh, but the website... “Oh, we had them on clearance, but somebody came in yesterday and bought them all.”

Hard to see why they’re going out of business.

This doesn't seem to be as promising as it looked.

The had a few other markdowns on things (Shuffle, iPod Touch) but nothing RYF worthy. As always, YMMV...

I got an MTP for $35 and a wired keyboard for $30.

Pretty much anyway.

My main keyboard is a Logitech K811 because of the three BT device connections and that it's illuminated. But it's a cheap keyboard, and doesn't have the typing quality of the Apple Al keyboards.

I like having a wired keyboard for the rare occasion when I'm trying to track down some problem and I want to boot to another drive with Cmd-Opt. That often doesn't work for me with a BT keyboard and I have to go to System Prefs and select the boot drive.

I've yet to fine a high quality keyboard that's illuminated that I like. Maybe that'll be another post inquiry.

Checking one other Radio Shack came up with a near miss. Somebody had stolen the MTP and left the box the day before.

So I have my original two MTPs, one possibly acting up, and the new one. As I have AppleCare on an iMac, I might see if the wonky one is actually wonky, and if Apple will replace it.

But- if Apple makes a FTMTP, I'm all over it.

And an illuminated BT keyboard!

No, that'd be something though. The Shuffles were like $38 and the 32GB Touch was $187. Strangely enough, the 16GB Touch wasn't discounted at all so it was $199.

According to the staff RadioShack isn't going to carry Apple accessories anymore so that's why the crazy sale. Hopefully the 50% off will eventually hit the cables and such, that'd be really nice.

Yes. Please. That's the obvious upgrade to the existing model. Add backlighting at the same price point and then move this model down to $45ish.

I picked up an MTP on the way home-- trying it now in place of my Kensington Turbomouse on the main mac.... soooo strange. Also grabbed one of these being blown out at 24.99 : [www.amazon.com]

Just got a MM on the way home. My local (and only) RS had plenty of inventory - and 2 employees with only one customer (me).
