AirPlay router scheme question

I'm wanting to rework my backyard wireless strategy. If I have an AirPort Extreme for a base router and an express as an extender and AirPlay node, could I be on another non-Apple router set up as an extender from the extreme and be able to still AirPlay to the express?

Yep. I've got a similar setup as this, but my Express is hard wired into the main router. Works just fine while connected wirelessly to an EnGenius EAP350 access point.
