What weed is this? And how do i kill it without killing the grass.
I'm guessing spurweed? But it looks a bit different than the images I googled.

Bonus points for the leaf in the lower left in top photo. Coriander weed of some sort?

If you smoke it, sometimes you can tell what it is by the taste.

If you had a whole lawn of that you wouldn't need grass.

If it's chickweed it is gone in the heat.
But not after it has bloomed and thrown a bazillion seeds across the yard for next year.
Just in time too cuz the crabgrass would push it out anyway.

Thank you all for participating in the weed game. I'm gonna have to nuke and spray soon before I lose control of the season. Probably some kind of broad "weed" category instead of a more focused type of spray killer. I inherited this lawn when I bought the house 2 years ago. Wierd mix of grass, zoysia, centipede, dandelion, crab grass, clover, plus at least 4-5 more mystery weeds. smiley-gen081

Advantage to a herbicide garden hose end sprayer is you get guaranteed contact and can target and flood the leaves positively.

If there are no weeds in a spot you can skip over it.

They make a post-emergent herbicide for crabgrass too.

YES! I think that's it!! Corn speedwell.
Commonly found in compacted soil in lawns. Thrives in dry, sandy or gravelly soil.
Yup sounds like my lawn alright sad smiley

"Corn Speedwell has a history of medicinal uses in Europe: used as an astringent, diruetic, blood purifier, and due to its high vitamin C content, as a scurvy preventative, and to treat coughs, burns, and skin ulcers."

Sounds like billb is referring to the right plant but has been calling it the wrong name. The leaf in the lower left of the top pic does look a bit like Cilantro but could also be something in the currant family (Gooseberry, Currant...)
