Best headphones for jogging?

What are the best cheapie headphones ($40 or less, the lesser the better!) for jogging? Looking to buy a pair as a gift for my wife. She hates the in-the-ear type headphones like Apple's ear buds. Thanks!

I don't use these for running with, but the sound is pretty good for the price.

I think you can find them at radio shack.

I have a cheapie ($10-14) pair of Sony behind-the-ear (they have stems that rest behind each ear so the pressure isn't on the inside of your ear) headphones that I got at Target (or BB?) and use with my Pod. Have used them about 2 years now, quality is excellent for the price.

I run with the Altec Lansing iM716's. They are amazing.

But for a budget, I also recommend the Koss "plug" - they are also great for running... never fall out.

These are nothing like Apple's in the ear headphones. Nothing at all. You can't run to the corner w/ Apple's earbuds - they fall right out.

But you probably knew that already.

In ear type = no no.

Some people don't like headphones in their ears. Count me as one of them. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Yeah, she's not big on the in-ear type at all. Besides the personal preference I think there are serious concerns about safety when jogging with ear plugs that block outside sound.

I'll look more into the over the ear types. The Sony's look pretty good for the dough.

Thanks all!

HATED the Shure in the ears as well -- big no for me too

my wife uses a pair of sonys she had from an older sports walkman -- over the head but they stay put and weigh about 1 ounce

several styles here, hers are like the MDR-W24V
