malware from site

while trying to find a stream for CNN last night that worked to watch the clown car in motion, one of the sites I tried connected me to some delicious malware, aka crap.
Advanced Mac Cleaner and Zip Cloud are the 2 that have reared their ugly faces thus far.
I've run them thru AppCleaner as that has previously done a good job, near as I can figure.
But I'm concerned about what other 5h1t may have joined the party, or if there might still be residules.
Any suggestions on any other course of action to take?
I ran Onyx as well, after AC.

just tried to open Chrome and Safari to go to XPN.
My Flash Player is out of date.
When I update, Flash player attempts to install all this junk.

FYI

Are you going directly to the Adobe site, or are you getting "there" via a link? I never trust a popup etc. that tells me I need to update some software.

Divx also installs "Zip Cloud". Supposedly there is an opt out during the installation but I guess I missed it. I have some old movies that play better with the Divx player.

Here is a link at Apple Discussions about it.
