Approaching my 2 year workout anniversary. A lot has changed but I still have a ways to go.

Last week: 2 upper body workouts, 1 hr on elliptical, 1 hr on exercise bike.

This week: 2 upper body, 1 hr on elliptical, 1 hr on exercise bike.

Slowly, slowly. I averaged weight loss of about 2/3lb/week for the past four weeks.

Workout intensity is way up. I am feeling a lot fitter than I was but I still have about 20-25 lbs to lose. The good news is that I am not on a diet. My wife and I have adopted new eating habits that we are happy to go with for the long term. I am counting calories.

Not good here, all of 1.5 miles of walking.

I vowed to lose 10 pounds this past summer. I have 15 to go.

Saturday: hiked up Tumamoc Hill which is way steep. Wednesday was my fastest 2-4 mile walk. I need to work back to 10k rows; I'm a little out of it since I came back from Germany. Besides that, I've been eating very freely.

Oh yeah: I'm down to 225, more or less, from 240 when I started this in May. A lot of that was being very active in Germany; it'll be hard to match that here because I'm just not going to spend four hours at a time on foot/bike.

Got the old beater hybrid bike road capable again and my knees are healed up enough to get a couple miles on a night or every other night .

Frustrating setback after getting to the point hat it seemed you could ride for dozens of miles if you had the time.

Congrats to everyone!

Bad news for me - I managed to receive my totally repaired RIDING lawn mower. Made getting the lawn finished in record time, but I did not get that extra workout I usually get when I have to trim the grass...

I walked 4 miles in the rain Saturday in the Lynchburg 4-Mile/10-Mile Walk/Run, the culmination of the 100-Mile Challenge (which I did not complete).

No big news here but I did get in some time on the bike and a few days of more yard work. My cycling is getting to be more of an aerobic workout. I'm feeling stronger on the route I take, which is fairly flat with few stop signs. My weight loss has been averaging about two pounds per week and I'm now down about 22 pounds from earlier this year. I've been reading labels and cutting back on portion sizes that's helped, along with the exercise.
